Scholarships: Muslim, Christian girl students in Kerala


The Kerela Government has introduced various scholarships awarded to meritorious students of outstanding performance in the education sector as well as to the students of socially and economically backward categories.

Scholarship: Scholarship for Muslim, Christian and Velar girl students

Offered by: Director of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala

Eligibility:

• Should belong to Muslim, Latin, Converted Christian (SC, Velar) community and should be a native of Kerala.
• Should be a GIRL student studying for the first year of Graduation or Higher courses in Govt./ Aided Institution.
• Students who got admission to Self financing colleges from merit seat are also eligible to apply for this scholarship.
• Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
• Family Annual income should not exceed 2.50 Lakhs.
• Applicant should have a Bank account in his/her name in one of State Bank of Travancore/ State Bank of India / South Indian Bank/Federal Bank. This is mandatory to apply for the Scholarship.

Rate and Number of Scholarships:

• Under Graduates: Rs. 3,000/- per annum (3,000 Nos).
• Post Graduates: Rs. 4,000/- per annum (1,000 Nos).
• Professional Courses: Rs. 5,000/- per annum (1,000 Nos).
• Hostel Stipend: Rs. 10,000/- per annum (2,000 Nos).
• Those Who Are Eligible For Hostel Stipend Will Not Be Eligible For Scholarship.

NOTE:

• The applicant has to take the Registration Printout, paste a recent passport size photograph on it, attest it and submit it along with the documents listed below, to the Verifying Officer of the Institution, latest by December 6, 2011.
• Documents to be submitted along with Registration Printout
• Attested copy of mark list of SSLC, attested by a Gazetted Officer
• Attested copy of first page of bank pass book in the name of the student, showing account number, name, code etc attested by a Gazetted Officer
• Copy of the Nativity Certificate, attested by Gazetted Officer
• Copy of the Mark list of Qualifying Examination attested by a Gazetted Officer
• Copy of the Community Certificate
• Income Certificate from the Village Officer
• Inmate Certificate obtained from the Hostel and Countersigned by the Head of the Institution, in case of those staying in hostels
• Copy of allotment memo in case of those in merit seats of Self financing colleges.
• The Online Verification of the applications of students and the approval of the applications at Institutional level is to be completed by December 20, 2011.
• Applications in respect of Government/ Aided Colleges may be retained in the Institute. Applications in case of those studying in Self financing Colleges should be forwarded to reach ‘The Special Officer Scholarships, Directorate of Collegiate Education (Annexe), Govt. Sanskrit College Campus, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram, 695034’ latest by December 25, 2011.
